Actualizado:
El embajador británico en Kabul, Mark Sedwill, será designado representante civil de la OTAN en Afganistán para coordinar asuntos civiles-militares, dijo el martes un responsable de la OTAN.
El responsable, que no quiso que se le identificara, dijo que el secretario general de la OTAN, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, anunciaría la designación en rueda de prensa el martes.
Sedwill, que ha estado destinado en Kabul desde hace aproximadamente un año, actuará de enlace con el mando de las fuerzas de la OTAN en Afganistán, el general Stanley McChrystal, y coordinará con él la puesta en marcha de esfuerzos de ayuda y desarrollo civiles.
