El director argentino de cine y televisión Alejandro Doria, quien en 2007 obtuvo un premio Goya con su película "Las manos", murió el jueves, a los 72 años, de una neumonía crónica.
El reconocido y premiado director falleció en Buenos Aires, donde en 1969 inició su carrera de la mano de la dirección de la serie televisiva "Nuestra Galleguita", que cosechó gran éxito popular, informaron medios locales.
Doria, que nació en 1936 en Buenos Aires, alcanzó una notable popularidad con el largometraje "Esperando a la carroza", aunque su trayectoria ha estado más centrada en la televisión, para la que ha realizado series como "Pobre diabla".
En la pantalla chica, Doria dirigió numerosos ciclos y telenovelas como "Alta Comedia", "Papá Corazón", "Amores" y "Atreverse", con el que recibió varios premios Martín Fierro, que galardona las producciones locales.
Durante su carrera, también dirigió y escribió los guiones de múltiples películas como "Cien veces no debo" y "Sofía".
En 2006 su película "Las manos", interpretada por actores argentinos y españoles, supuso su regreso al cine tras quince años de ausencia y recreó la obra del fallecido sacerdote italiano Mario Pantaleo, famoso por su don de curar o aliviar enfermedades.
El filme obtuvo al año siguiente de su estreno el Goya a la Mejor Película Extranjera de Habla Hispana en la XXI edición de estos galardones del cine español.
Doria también recibió premios en festivales de Huelva y Biarritz, entre otros.
