El director del Centro Nacional de Inteligencia (CNI), Alberto Saiz, comparecerá el próximo martes en el Congreso de los Diputados para explicar las informaciones publicadas en El Mundo que apuntan a que usó medios públicos de los servicios de inteligencia para fines privados.
Así lo ha asegurado la vicepresidenta primera del Gobierno, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, en la rueda de prensa posterior a la reunión del Consejo de Ministros, en la que ha reiterado que Saiz siempre "ha comparecido y comparecerá todas las veces que sean necesarias" cuando la Cámara así se lo requiera.
Preguntada por si el Gobierno se arrepiente de la reciente reasignación de Saiz al frente de los servicios de inteligencia, la vicepresidenta ha indicado que el Ejecutivo lo renombró "de acuerdo con lo dispuesto en la ley". "Y no tengo nada más que decir", ha subrayado.
Fernández de la Vega ha mostrado su convencimiento de que Saiz ofrecerá sus explicaciones el martes con "normalidad y transparencia" en la comparecencia que él mismo pidió en la comisión de Secretos Oficiales el pasado miércoles.
Dicha comisión, cuyas reuniones son reservadas y de carácter secreto, la preside el propio presidente del Congreso, José Bono, y la componen los portavoces de los grupos parlamentarios: José Antonio Alonso (PSOE), Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría (PP), Josep Antoni Duran i Lleida (CiU), Josu Erkoreka (PNV), Gaspar Llamazares (ERC-IU-ICV) y Francisco Jorquera (Mixto).
