La vicepresidenta segunda y ministra de Economía y Hacienda, Elena Salgado, afirmó hoy que el próximo año el Gobierno "pasará revista" a todas las figuras impositivas porque consideró imposible reducir el déficit y los impuestos.
Así respondió en la sesión de control al Gobierno en el Senado a la pregunta del senador del PP Francisco Utrera sobre las modificaciones que van a suponer las medidas de reactivación de la economía española en los Presupuestos.
Salgado señaló que durante el Gobierno socialista ha bajado la presión fiscal debido a que había superávit en las arcas públicas y que ahora subirá como consecuencia de la peor situación económica.
Además, insistió en que el déficit actual es consecuencia de la caída de los ingresos, del aumento del coste en la protección por desempleo y de las medidas anticíclicas en coordinación con la UE.
Recordó que España seguirá teniendo unos niveles de endeudamiento veinte puntos inferior a la media de la UE.
Utrera criticó al Gobierno que no haga nada en periodos electorales, poco el resto del tiempo, y que su ineptitud la paguen los ciudadanos.
Salgado también respondió a la pregunta del senador del PP Javier Arenas sobre las razones del Gobierno para ocultar las nuevas previsiones económicas hasta después de las elecciones europeas.
A este respecto, la vicepresidenta señaló que el Ejecutivo ha hecho las previsiones dentro del plazo estipulado.
Asimismo, indicó que el Gobierno desconoce qué es lo que quiere el PP sobre la financiación autonómica y criticó que ahora el partido de la oposición ensalce al ex presidente del Gobierno Felipe González por sus criticas al actual Ejecutivo.
En este sentido, ironizó al decir que el PP ha pasado del "váyase señor González a tenerlo en sus oraciones".
Arenas afirmó que el Gobierno ha hecho de la mentira su profesión política y añadió que lo peor no es que mienta sino que se equivoca en sus estrategias.
