El Gobierno ha comunicado a Bruselas formalmente el marco general bajo el que actuará el Fondo de Reestructuración Ordenada Bancaria (FROB) y espera obtener próximamente la aprobación formal de la Comisión, dijo el lunes el Ejecutivo español en un nota.
Este mediodía la Comisión Europea había dicho a través de un portavoz que confiaba en que el proyecto del plan de ayuda para las entidades financieras españolas tuviera un resultado positivo, pero que todavía no había recibido de España los detalles de su plan de ayuda para las entidades financieras.
El Ejecutivo explicó en su comunicado que el esquema del FROB servirá para garantizar que las operaciones que tengan lugar en el sistema financiero español, y en las que intervenga este fondo, "cumplen con la normativa europea en materia de competencia, de forma que el proceso de autorización comunitaria será mucho más ágil y simple".
El Gobierno español creó en junio pasado el fondo de reestructuración bancaria con el objetivo de contribuir a mejorar la solvencia de las entidades financieras y sus planteamientos para integraciones, en un momento de caída del negocio bancario, incluyen ayudas públicas que las entidades deben devolver posteriormente con sus intereses respectivos.
El hecho de que la Comisión Europea no se haya podido pronunciar de momento sobre el plan de ayuda a la banca española ha provocado que Caixa Catalunya, Caixa Manresa y Caixa Tarragona reconocieran públicamente tener que aplazar algunos trámites para proseguir con su planteamiento de fusión.
Hasta el momento, España no ha entrado en el capital de las entidades a diferencia de lo ocurrido en otros países del entorno, aunque el Banco de España sí tuvo que intervenir en marzo de 2009 Caja Castilla La Mancha ante los problemas de liquidez de esta entidad.
