El euro defendió hoy la marca de los 1,55 dólares en el mercado de divisas de Fráncfort pese a la publicación de buenas cifras macroeconómicas en EEUU.
Hacia las 16.30 horas GMT se cambiaba a 1,5546 dólares, frente a los 1,5544 dólares del viernes por la tarde.
El Banco Central Europeo (BCE) fijó hoy el cambio oficial del euro en 1,5521 dólares.
"El euro se ha mantenido estable pese al fuerte viento en contra", consideró el experto en divisas de Commerzbank Carsten Fritsch.
Los últimos datos coyunturales dados a conocer en EEUU fueron mejores de lo previsto por los mercados, lo que acercó de nuevo las especulaciones de una subida de tipos de interés en EEUU a lo largo de este año.
La actividad del sector manufacturero de EEUU mejoró en mayo, aunque no ha salido aún de la fase de contracción en que se ha mantenido durante cuatro meses, según datos del Instituto de Gestión de Suministros (ISM).
El índice de gestores de compras del sector manufacturero de EEUU subió hasta 49,6 puntos en mayo, en comparación con los 48,6 puntos del mes anterior.
