Una mujer de 75 años ha fallecido y su pareja de la misma edad ha resultado herido con quemaduras de segundo grado como consecuencia de un incendio que se ha declarado en el dormitorio del piso en que vivían en el barrio de Gràcia de Barcelona.
Fuentes del Ayuntamiento de Barcelona han informado de que el suceso se ha producido minutos antes de la una de la madrugada cuando se ha incendiado una toalla situada cerca de una lámpara y el fuego se ha extendido al colchón donde dormía la pareja.
Según el relato del hombre herido, L.A., de 76 años, ambos ancianos han intentado en un primer momento sacar el colchón de la habitación hacia la galería, pero no han conseguido con ello más que extender el fuego.
Además de la mujer fallecida, D.S., y el hombre con quemaduras de segundo grado en el antebrazo, en la vivienda se encontraba una tercera persona de edad avanzada que se ha refugiado en el piso de un vecino y que no ha resultado herida.
El fuego se ha producido en la vivienda situada en el 4º2ª, en el número ocho de la calle Jesus, en el barrio de Gracia.
Los Bomberos de Barcelona han desplazado hasta el lugar dos tanques, una escalera, una ambulancia y un vehículo de mando con el jefe de guardia.
