Una noticia publicada en varios medios de comunicación -entre ellos Thef1.com-, según la cual una joven de tan sólo 20 años sería el segundo fichaje español de la scuderia ha resultado ser falsa.
Según los medios que se hicieron eco, una marbellí de 20 años, llamada Paula García, con una fulgurante carrera en la "prestigiosa universidad de Oxford Brookes" había suscrito un contrato de cuatro años con la escudería de Maranello. La joven sería el segundo español en el equipo rojo, tras el fichaje de Fernando Alonso. Además habría sido ingeniera en BMW Sauber durante un año. Toda una carrera pese a su juventud.
La falsa noticia llegó a algunos medios de comunicación de ámbito nacional que en un principio la dieron por cierta y la publicaron. En el agregador de contenidos Menéame los usuarios encontraron el Fotolog de la presunta ingeniera y comenzaron las sospechas. La "portento" española tenía faltas de ortografía que incluían escribir volante con 'b'. El Fotolog ya no está online.
Hoy el presentador de la Fórmula 1 en La Sexta, Antonio Lobato, ha desmentido la noticia. En su blog cuenta que "una friki de Facebook que lleva meses haciéndose pasar por ingeniera de BMW Sauber" había intentado contactar con él.
Lobato asegura que consultó a Cuquerella (ingeniero de pista de BMW) y le aseguró que "era todo una farsa". No había tal ingeniera española.
