Las FARC entregaron hoy pruebas de vida del diputado Sigifredo López, único sobreviviente del grupo de 12 políticos que esa guerrilla secuestró en la ciudad colombiana de Cali en 2002, de los cuales 11 murieron en cautiverio hace un año.
El video fue entregado por las Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia (FARC) a una comisión integrada por la Iglesia Católica y el ex defensor del pueblo de Cali Hernán Sandoval.
La esposa de López, Patricia Nieto, dijo a la radio colombiana RCN que un alto jerarca de la Iglesia Católica le había comunicado que tenían en su poder un video del secuestrado.
"Saber de Sigifredo era lo que todos estábamos esperando", indicó Nieto quien agregó que todavía no se había enterado del contenido de la prueba de supervivencia y que iba en camino a enterarse sobre los detalles de la grabación.
Por su lado, Sandoval aseguró que en la cinta habían precisiones del estado de salud del diputado López y que también se tocaba el tema de acuerdo humanitario.
Explicó que el documento fílmico fue entregado por las FARC este sábado, sin precisar mayores detalles.
Los 12 políticos, entre ellos López, fueron secuestrados por un comando de las FARC el 11 de abril de 2002 en la sede del Legislativo de Cali, capital del Valle del Cauca.
El 28 de junio del año pasado, las FARC difundieron un comunicado en el que revelaron que 11 de los 12 políticos habían fallecido el 18 del mismo mes, en un combate con un grupo desconocido.
Las víctimas fueron: Juan Carlos Narváez, presidente de esa Asamblea al momento del secuestro; Héctor Arismendi, Carlos Barragán, Carlos Charry, Ramiro Echeverri, Francisco Giraldo, Jairo Hoyos, Nacianceno Orozco, Edison Pérez, Alberto Quintero y Rufino Varela.
La muerte de los legisladores regionales, aún no aclarada, al parecer fue producto de un choque armado, en la madrugada del 18 de junio, entre dos facciones de las FARC.
Una investigación de una comisión forense de la Organización de Estados Americanos (OEA) señaló que los cadáveres presentaban múltiples disparos, pero no estableció responsabilidades.
