El Gobierno español estudia ampliar en torno a un año la cobertura de la prestación por desempleo - cuyo límite pasaría de dos a tres años - de forma temporal, mientras dura la crisis, según ha informado ABC.
La nueva vicepresidenta económica, Elena Salgado, que se ha reunido esta mañana con Zapatero, podría aprovechar sus encuentros de esta semana con empresarios y sindicatos para comunicarles la medida.
El presidente intentó en febrero, coincidiendo con la aprobación de uno de los paquetes de medidas anticrisis, incluir una propuesta en este sentido, pero las reticencias por parte de la CEOE, e incluso dentro del propio Ministerio de Economía por el elevado coste presupuestario que esto implicaría, dejaron aparcada la iniciativa.
De los 3,6 millones de parados en la actualidad, en torno a 1,1 millones no reciben prestación.
