Un keniata mordió a una pitón que le atrapó con su cuerpo y le arrastró a lo alto de un árbol en una lucha que duró horas, informaron el miércoles medios locales del país africano.
El empleado de granja Ben Nyaumbe estaba trabajando el fin de semana cuando la serpiente, que aparentemente buscaba ganado, le atacó en la zona de Malindi, en la costa índica de Kenia.
"Pisé una cosa esponjosa en el suelo y de repente mi pierna quedó atrapada por el cuerpo de una enorme pitón", dijo al periódico Daily Nation.
Cuando la serpiente se enrolló en torno a la parte superior de su cuerpo, Nyaumbe recurrió a medidas desesperadas: "Tuve que morderla".
La pitón le arrastró hasta un árbol, pero cuando el animal aflojó la presión, Nyaumbe contó que pudo sacar el teléfono móvil de su bolsillo y llamar para pedir ayuda.
Cuando su supervisor llegó con un policía, Nyaumbe tapó la cabeza de la serpiente con su camiseta, mientras que los equipos de rescate la ataron con una cuerda y tiraron de ella.
"Ambos caímos, nos desplomamos", dijo Nyaumbe, que sufrió lesiones en los labios y algunas contusiones.
La serpiente se escapó de los tres sacos en los que había sido metida.
