Iberdrola Renovables dijo el martes que la producción eléctrica de sus plantas aumentó un 20 por ciento en el primer trimestre de 2009 hasta los 5.397 gigavatios por hora (GWh) gracias a la aportación de sus activos eólicos, especialmente en Estados Unidos y el Reino Unido.
que el año pasado compró Energy East - subió en el periodo entre enero y marzo un 40,6 por ciento interanual, hasta 1.731 GWh, mientras que en el Reino Unido - donde cuenta con los activos procedentes de la adquisición de Scottish Power - se incrementó un 45,6 por ciento a 466 GWh.
En España, la producción eólica de Renovables aumentó un 3,6 por ciento a 2.597 GWh.
Al cierre del trimestre, Renovables tenía una capacidad eólica instalada de 9.282 megavatios (MW), un 28,6 por ciento más que un año antes, mientras que la capacidad incluyendo energía minihidráulica y otras renovables se situó en 9.624 megavatios (MW), un 27,3 por ciento más.
El grupo, primer operador eólico del mundo, tiene 4.617 MW de potencia eólica instalada en España, 3.031 MW en EE.UU. y 704 MW en Reino Unido.
