El consejo de administración de Iberia aprobó el jueves un nuevo plan director para el periodo 2009-2012 que contempla ahorros adicionales para hacer frente a la gravedad de la crisis en el sector de transporte aéreo.
Iberia, que ya tiene en marcha un plan con mejoras a nivel de EBIT de 450 millones de euros en el periodo 2009-2011, dijo que quiere lograr ahorros adicionales de hasta 37 millones de euros al año dentro de 2 años.
Entre las medidas de reducción de costes, Iberia destacó la congelación salarial en 2010 y 2011 además de la aplicación de un expediente de regulación de empleo (ERE) para 200 empleados del personal de tierra y la jubilación anticipada para todo el personal de cabina mayores de 55 años.
La compañía dijo que también continuará con su política de reducir sus rutas a corto y medio radio y reforzar su oferta de largo radio. Para ese cambio de modelo, Iberia dijo que tiene previsto crear una nueva compañía de corto y medio radio, con base en Madrid, que aportara tráfico para su red de largo radio.
