El juez del "Caso Malaya", Oscar Pérez, ha acordado rebajar la fianza de un millón de euros impuesta al ex primer teniente de alcalde de Marbella Pedro Román para salir de prisión por esta causa y ha rebajado su cuantía a 200.000 euros, según han señalado a Efe fuentes de su defensa.
La Audiencia Provincial de Málaga revocó parcialmente el pasado octubre el auto de prisión preventiva dictado por el que fuera instructor del procedimiento, Miguel Angel Torres, contra Román y fijó una fianza de un millón de euros para su excarcelación, la de mayor cuantía de las establecidas para los procesados en el "Caso Malaya".
El ex teniente de alcalde permanece recluido en la prisión de Alhaurín de la Torre (Málaga) desde el 2 de mayo de 2007, un día después de su detención por su presunta implicación en la trama de corrupción municipal.
El que fuera "mano derecha" del fallecido ex alcalde Jesús Gil está imputado de los delitos de cohecho, blanqueo de capitales, contra la ordenación del territorio y fraude a la Hacienda Pública.
Según la investigación, Román y su hija, detenida junto a él y en libertad con cargos por blanqueo, estarían vinculados al entramado societario del ex asesor urbanístico y supuesto "cerebro" de la trama Juan Antonio Roca.
