El cantautor canadiense de origen judío Leonard Cohen actuará el próximo septiembre en la ciudad cisjordana de Ramala dos días después de que lo haga en Tel Aviv tras presiones ejercidas por grupos de activistas palestinos.
Según el diario Haaretz, Cohen tenía previsto actuar solo el 24 de septiembre en el Ramat Gan Stadium de Tel Aviv, pero finalmente ofrecerá el 26 del mismo mes un recital también en el Palacio de la Cultura de Ramala, sede de la Autoridad Nacional Palestina (ANP).
La decisión de Cohen se produjo después de que grupos de activistas palestinos amenazaran con una fuerte campaña para disuadirle de que actuara en el Estado de Israel.
Grupos palestinos anuncian campañas de ese tipo cuando artistas de renombre mundial preven actuaciones en el Estado judío.
Esos anuncios no suelen dar fruto pero sí en el que caso de Cohen, que ha optado por cantar tanto en el suelo israelí como en el palestino después de que se extendieran los rumores de que se disponía a cancelar su gira artística por la región.
