El cantante Pete Doherty, líder de la banda de rock británica Babyshambles, fue condenado hoy a cuatro meses de prisión condicional por conducción ilegal y posesión de drogas.
Doherty, de 28 años, detenido el pasado 5 de mayo por la policía en el barrio londinense de Kensington por infracciones de tráfico y posesión de estupefacientes, no irá a la cárcel si no reincide en un plazo que la juez Davinder Lachar fijó en dos años.
Los términos de la libertad condicional dictados hoy por la magistrada en el Tribunal de West London obligan al ex novio de Kate Moss a cumplir con un programa de desintoxicación de un año y a acudir durante dieciocho meses a órdenes de control judiciales.
El rockero, cuya banda acaba de publicar su segundo álbum, "Shotter's Nation", también deberá pagar una multa de 475 libras (unos 677 euros) por conducir sin seguro y sin el certificado de la inspección técnica de vehículos.
