Magna, la multinacional canadiense-austríaca que ha llegado a un acuerdo para la toma de control del negocio europeo de General Motors (GM), ha presentado a los sindicatos del grupo automovilístico un plan de ahorro de 1.750 millones de dólares (unos 1.300 millones de euros) en cinco años.
Según ha explicado a Efe, en conversación telefónica desde Fráncfort (Alemania), el secretario general de UGT en la planta de GM en Figueruelas (Zaragoza), Pedro Bona, esta medida, que será complementaria a un recorte de empleo de al menos 10.000 de los 52.000 puestos de trabajo de GM Europa, busca garantizar la viabilidad de la compañía.
Los planes manejados por Magna asignan a la planta española, donde trabajan 7.500 personas, una carga de trabajo de 320.000 unidades anuales, lo que coincide con las previsiones para 2009 realizadas a principios de año por GM.
