El presidente del PNV, Íñigo Urkullu, ha asegurado que "de momento mantenemos la candidatura de Ibarretxe; después ya lo veremos".
En declaraciones a la emisora Rac-1, Urkullu se ha referido así al papel que puede desempeñar Juan José Ibarretxe después de las elecciones en el País Vasco.
Urkullu ha subrayado que "el lehendakari en la sombra será el presidente del PP vasco, Antonio Basagoiti", y ha denunciado que el PSE ha demostrado que el discurso que había practicado estos últimos años era un "fraude".
"Me llama la atención que Patxi López dijera el otro día que la paz se abrirá paso en 2011. Sospecho que estamos viviendo tiempos de necesidades del PSOE, del Gobierno, y también del mundo de ETA, de la izquierda abertzale, y que estas necesidades pueden confluir en 2011, cuando hay elecciones municipales y al Parlamento navarro", ha añadido.
Por otra parte, Urkullu ha defendido la continuidad de Galeuscat, a pesar de que el BNG no compartirá candidatura en las europeas con PNV y CiU.
En cuanto a los posibles cambios en el Ejecutivo español, ha añadido que son "preocupantes" sobre todo para las comunidades históricas.
