Una voluntaria de la organización de protección animal El Refugio ha decidido adoptar a Sherlock, un perro mestizo con muchos achaques debidos a sus 13 años, lo que le ha convertido en el can de más edad en ser adoptado.
La historia de este animal es muy especial, pues fue adoptado hace años por una socia y ésta falleció, por lo que Sherlock volvió al Centro de adopción de la organización. Dada su avanzada edad, se le buscó una casa de acogida, con tan buena suerte que Chris, la voluntaria que lo tenía en su casa decidió adoptarlo y darle una segunda oportunidad. Ahora vive feliz y pasará sus últimos años tumbado en un sofá.
"Una adopción como la de Sherlock ayuda a entender que todos los perros y gatos que tenemos, al final, siempre tienen una segunda oportunidad y son adoptados", manifestó el presidente de El Refugio, Nacho Paunero.
El Refugio no sacrifica a ninguno de los animales que recoge y a todos sin excepción se les busca una familia que los adopte, por lo que se hace necesario promover la adopción y así poder recoger más animales de la calle.
Los perros y gatos del centro están vacunados, esterilizados, identificados con microchip y analítica de leishmania, por lo que están en mejores condiciones sanitarias que los que se venden en las tiendas. Además, se conoce su carácter, su tamaño y la organización da información responsable a la persona que quiere adoptar.
El coste de la adopción es de 70â'¬ en los que se incluyen todas su vacunas, cartilla, microchip, esterilización y analítica de lheismania. El Centro de adopción está abierto, todos los días del año incluidos sábados, domingos y festivos de 09:00 a 15:00 horas.
