Actualizado:
La farmacéutica Merck & Co dijo elmartes que compraría la firma de productos para tratamientosoculares Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc por cerca de 430 millonesde dólares para ampliar su cartera en el área oftalmológica.
La oferta de 5 dólares por acción en efectivo representa unpremio de un 26 por ciento frente al precio de cierre del lunesde las acciones de Inspire.
La transacción fue aprobada por unanimidad por losdirectorios de ambas empresas.
Además, el fondo privado de inversión Warburg Pincus, queposee aproximadamente 28 por ciento de las acciones encirculación de Inspire, ha accedido a entregar sus acciones ala oferta de Merck.
