La canciller alemana, Angela Merkel, y el presidente ruso, Dmitri Medvédev, aseguraron hoy que viajarán a la cumbre del G-20 de Londres con "posiciones muy similares" dirigidas a crear una nueva estructura financiera mundial que evite futuras crisis.
"Los dos queremos que el encuentro sea un éxito", apuntó la canciller en rueda de prensa, tras el encuentro entre ambos mandatarios que incluyó entrevistas con representantes de la industria alemana.
Medvédev insistió en que las posturas de Berlín y Moscú "no tienen diferencias fundamentales" respecto a las decisiones que debe adoptar la cumbre de Londres y expresó su apoyo a la Carta Global para una Economía Sostenible que Merkel propone para cuando termine la crisis.
"No debemos concentrarnos en los detalles, sino en las perspectivas de futuro", afirmó el presidente ruso y añadió que el encuentro de Londres no puede terminar con una declaración de intenciones, sino que debe ser la primera de una serie de foros donde se supervise el progreso de la nueva arquitectura financiera.
Pese a la unidad formal que manifestaron, Merkel descartó de plano el proteccionismo como posible método para salir de la crisis, mientras que Medvédev afirmó que sí contempla adoptar medidas proteccionistas "de carácter local y temporal" si la situación así lo requiere.
