Miguel Muñiz, director general del Teatro Real durante los últimos ocho años, abandona el cargo. El Patronato del Teatro Real aprobará a primera hora de la tarde de este jueves su sustitución por el administrador general, Ignacio García-Belenguer, informaron a Efe fuentes del teatro.
Muñiz (Orense, 1939) presentó su renuncia al puesto el pasado diciembre tras conocerse el resultado de las elecciones generales. Pero entonces el Real decidió que si Muñiz quería, podía continuar hasta el final de esta temporada en julio. No obstante la crisis abierta en el Real con los trabajadores ha precipitado su relevo. De hecho, su segundo, Alfredo Tejero, ya dimitió hace siete meses por discrepancias con la dirección artística y la distribución del presupuesto.
La crisis del Real con los trabajadores tiene su origen en la rebaja del 5% en los sueldos que el Gobierno de Zapatero aplicó en 2010 a los funcionarios. Esta rebaja nunca se aplicó como tal en los salarios de los trabajadores, sino que, según Muñiz, se buscaron fórmulas alternativas más beneficiosas para los trabajadores con ajustes en las horas extra y en los complementos.
Hace unas semanas el Real reclamó a sus empleados alrededor de un millón de euros en sueldos debido al recorte no aplicado (entre 3.000 y 6.000 euros cada trabajador). Este hecho, ha provocado movilizaciones por parte de los trabajadores que han amenazado con ir a la huelga y con acudir a los tribunales.
García-Belenguer ya fue el encargado de sustituir a comienzos de febrero a Alfredo Tejero, quien dimitió del cargo tras más de siete años de desempeño en sus funciones. Ahora, el administrador también ejercerá de de director general. El nuevo responsable deberá afrontar la amenaza de huelga de los trabajadores en coincidencia con el estreno de Plácido Domingo el próximo mes de mayo de Cyrano de Bergerac.
