El Ministerio argelino de Defensa aseguró hoy en un comunicado difundido por la agencia oficial argelina APS que el doble atentado perpetrado el domingo en Beni Amran, en la provincia de Boumerdés, causó únicamente dos muertos.
En la nota de prensa, el Ministerio desmiente que las dos bombas que explotaron cerca de la estación de ferrocarril de esta localidad de la Cabilia provocasen trece muertos, tal como informaron fuentes de seguridad y varios medios de comunicación privados argelinos.
La nota confirma que una de las víctimas es el ingeniero francés Pierre Novacky, de 57 años, y la otra su conductor argelino.
El ciudadano francés y su chófer murieron al explotar una bomba al paso de su vehículo cuando abandonaban la estación de Beni Amran en la que trabajaban para la empresa de obras públicas francesa Razel.
Minutos después una segunda bomba explotó cuando los equipos de Protección Civil y las fuerzas de seguridad intentaban socorrer a las víctimas de la primera explosión.
Fuentes de seguridad afirmaron que esta segunda explosión había causado la muerte de ocho militares y tres miembros de la Protección Civil, lo que el Ministerio de Defensa califica de "información sin ningún fundamento".
La empresa Razel para la que trabajaba el ingeniero anunció su decisión de repatriar hoy mismo a los otros tres franceses que trabajaban en la misma obra en la estación de Beni Amran y, después de repasar la situación con ellos, estudiará si volverá a enviar a su personal a Argelia.
