Los ministros de Exteriores de los países de la Liga Árabe se reunirán en El Cairo el próximo 17 de junio para para evaluar el discurso pronunciado el pasado día 4 por el presiente estadounidense, Barack Obama, en la capital egipcia, para acercar el Islam y Occidente.
Según aseguraron a Efe fuentes de la organización panárabe, con sede en El Cairo, la reunión, ha sido convocada con carácter urgente por Egipto.
Otro de los objetivos de este encuentro es consensuar una postura común entre los 22 Estados árabes sobre las ideas presentadas por Obama en El Cairo, donde instó a "un nuevo comienzo" entre su país y el mundo árabe.
Asimismo revisarán las propuestas de Obama respecto al conflicto palestino-israelí y a la paz en Oriente Medio.
La cita fue solicitada por el secretario general de la Liga Árabe, Amro Musa, tras varios días de intensos contactos, agregaron las fuentes.
