Dos personas resultaron muertas y otras ocho heridas en un ataque suicida perpetrado hoy en la localidad de Saqlawiya, en la provincia iraquí de Al Anbar, informaron fuente policiales.
Un camión cisterna cargado de explosivos y conducido por un suicida estalló junto a la sede del ayuntamiento de la ciudad de Saqlawiya, situada a 50 kilómetros al norte de Faluya, al osete de Bagdad, explicaron las fuentes.
El conductor del vehículo logró superar la primera de las barreras de seguridad del complejo administrativo y de seguridad en el que se encuentra el consistorio y detonar los explosivos del vehículo.
Las fuentes indicaron a Efe que, no obstante, el suicida no consiguió empotrar el camión contra el edificio de la administración local, gracias a los bloques de hormigón colocados en las vías de acceso.
El atentado causó además importantes daños en el edificio, así como en la comisaría central de Saqlawiya y en varias viviendas de la zona.
El pasado 30 de diciembre, al menos 25 personas murieron en un doble atentado contra la sede de la administración de la ciudad de Ramadi, capital de Al Anbar, situada a 100 kilómetros al oeste de Bagdad.
