Una turista alemana de 70 años ha muerto en aguas del mar Rojo tras ser atacada por un tiburón, según informaron fuentes oficiales y médicas.
Un funcionario de la Oficina de Áreas Protegidas del Sur del Sinaí confirmó el incidente en declaraciones telefónicas desde la playa donde se había registrado, pero dijo que no se había confirmado la nacionalidad.
La misma fuente señaló que el ataque se produjo en la playa del hotel Hayat Regency, en la ciudad de Sharm el Sheij, la localidad turística más importante de la costa egipcia del mar Rojo

Otras fuentes médicas confirmaron a medios locales que la turista era de nacionalidad alemana y tenía 70 años.
De acuerdo con estos informes, la turista alemana murió inmediatamente después de que un tiburón le amputara el brazo mientras nadaba en Garqana, cerca de Sharm el Sheij.
Fuentes de la embajada alemana dijeron desconocer este suceso y remitieron al Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores, en Berlín.
El fallecimiento de la turista alemana se produce después de que otro tiburón atacara el miércoles a cuatro turistas (tres rusos y un ucraniano), también en aguas de Sharm el Sheij.
Uno de los turistas, una mujer de 48 años, perdió el antebrazo derecho, y los otros sufrieron graves lesiones o desgarros en las extremidades.
Tras ese episodio, el Ministerio de Turismo egipcio prohibió bañarse en la zona del ataque durante 48 horas, pero las playas fueron reabiertas posteriormente.
