CUENCA.- Las iglesias de San Fernando y de San Esteban de Cuenca han acogido hoy a centenares de personas que han querido acercarse a los funerales por Laura del Hoyo y Marina Okarynska, asesinadas supuestamente por Sergio Morate, novio de una de ellas.
Poco después de las 11:30 horas ha llegado a las puertas de la iglesia de San Esteban el coche fúnebre y un caluroso aplauso ha recibido al féretro de Marina, que tenía 26 años.
Familiares, amigos, compañeras de trabajo, muchos de ellos jóvenes que expresaban su dolor y tristeza, y representantes institucionales como el alcalde de Cuenca, Ángel Mariscal, y el delegado de la Junta, Ángel Tomás Godoy, han asistido a la ceremonia religiosa.
El funeral lo han oficiado sacerdotes católicos y uno grecocatólico para atender a la familia ucraniana, y en la homilía el sacerdote ha dicho que "Cuenca entera ha estado herida, sin distinción de países y procedencias".
A la iglesia han llegado una docena de coronas de flores, de sus padres y hermana, de lugares en los que trabajó la joven y varias institucionales, con un mensaje: "No te olvidaremos".
Casi a la misma hora, la iglesia parroquial de San Fernando se quedaba pequeña para acoger a la gran cantidad de personas que han asistido al funeral por Laura del Hoyo, una ceremonia concelebrada por trece sacerdotes, entre ellos el vicario general de la Diócesis de Cuenca, Antonio Fernández.
Entre escenas de dolor y un fuerte aplauso, el féretro era recibido a las 11:15 horas en el templo, donde esperaba la familia de Laura.
Durante la homilía, el párroco, José María Alcázar, se ha dirigido a los familiares para intentar darles consuelo y les ha dicho que "el amor es mucho más fuerte que la rabia y el dolor".
También ha recordado el sacerdote que en esta iglesia Laura del Hoyo fue bautizada y recibió la primera comunión.
Tras los funerales Laura del Hoyo y Marina Okarynska serán enterradas en el cementerio municipal de Cuenca.
