La farmacéutica Pfizer Inc está cerca de llegara un acuerdo para vender su negocio de alimentos para bebés algigante suizo de la industria alimentaria Nestle SA por al menos9.000 millones de dólares, reportó el lunes el diario WallStreet Journal.
Citando a personas familiarizadas con el asunto, el diarioseñaló que Nestle parece haber prevalecido sobre Danone y MeadJohnson Nutrition Co-que se unieron para presentar una oferta- ypodría cerrar la adquisición la próxima semana.
Nestle, el mayor productor mundial de alimentosempaquetados, ya era considerado el favorito para concretar lacompra debido a sus bien provistas arcas.
Pfizer puso en venta en julio pasado sus negocios denutrición infantil y salud animal, buscando focalizarse en sunegocio farmacéutico.
Un ejecutivo de la compañía dijo el martes que aún no se hatomado una decisión y que Pfizer estará en posición deanunciarla este año. La compañía espera completar las ventas deambos negocios entre julio de este año y julio del 2013.
