El presidente de Estados Unidos, Barack Obama, dijo el martes que los esfuerzos por reactivar la economía están comenzando a surtir efecto, aunque sostuvo que hay que trabajar más para restaurar el crecimiento.
En extractos de un discurso que pronunciará este martes, Obama dijo que las medidas tomadas para recapitalizar a los bancos, fortalecer el mercado de la vivienda y rescatar el sector automovilístico fueron "piezas necesarias en el rompecabezas de la recuperación".
"Han sido diseñados para incrementar la demanda, lograr que el flujo de crédito vuelva a las familias y negocios y ayudarles a capear el temporal. Y tomadas en conjunto, estas acciones están comenzando a generar señales de progreso económico", indicó.
