'Jean Giono y Platero y yo. Un guión para el cine' es el nombre de una nueva obra literaria, elaborada por Dominique Bonnet, que trata de desvelar los puntos de conexión entre el poeta moguereño Juan Ramón Jiménez y el escritor francés.
Dominique Bonnet, según ha informado la Diputación de Huelva, es profesora del Departamento de Filologías Integradas de la Facultad de Humanidades de la Universidad de Huelva, nació en Marsella y cursó sus estudios en la Universidad de Aix en Provence.
Sus viajes a Manosque, ciudad natal de Jean Giono, fueron frecuentes desde su infancia dado que su abuela paterna era originaria de un pueblo muy cercano, donde veraneó desde pequeña.
Ello hizo que conociera la fama del escritor francés desde muy temprano y más tarde se interesó por él y su obra hasta el punto de centrar su investigación universitaria en torno a su persona.
En el año 1999, después de un periodo de tiempo en la Universidad de Granada, vino a vivir a Huelva donde descubrió el guión cinematográfico de Platero y yo escrito por Jean Giono, en la Fundación Zenobia Juan Ramón Jiménez en Moguer.
Dominique Bonnet conocía la existencia de dicho guión pero nunca había tenido oportunidad de leerlo.
Dados sus orígenes geográficos y su nuevo lugar de residencia la profesora Dominique Bonnet encontró en este documento un punto de conexión entre ambos autores, naciendo el entusiasmo necesario para la realización de este trabajo.
