Ocho comunidades autónomas (Asturias, Castilla y León, Aragón, Extremadura, La Rioja, Navarra, Castilla-La Mancha y Madrid) se encuentran en alerta amarilla (riesgo bajo) por nieve y, algunas provincias, también por lluvia.
La Agencia Estatal de Meteorología (Aemet) ha activado la alerta amarilla ante la previsión de nevadas en la sierra de Madrid, donde se pueden acumular ocho centímetros de nieve.
En Huesca, Zaragoza y Teruel la nieve puede alcanzar diez centímetros de espesor y, además, se espera que las precipitaciones acumulen 15 litros por metro cuadrado en una hora en las tres provincias aragonesas.
En Huesca y Navarra la Aemet ha activado, además, la alerta ante el riesgo de aludes.
La Rioja está en alerta por nieve, que podrá alcanzar hasta diez centímetros, y también por lluvia, ya que se espera que se acumulen 15 litros por metro cuadrado en una hora.
En Castilla y León están en alerta todas las provincias, salvo Valladolid, ante la previsión de que la nieve alcance diez centímetros de espesor.
Las nevadas afectan también al norte de Cáceres y a las provincias de Guadalajara y Cuenca; en esta última, la nieve llegará a diez centímetros de espesor.
Además, la nieve ha obligado a cerrar el puerto de El Veleta (Granada); a utilizar cadenas en otros cinco, de ellos, sólo uno de la red nacional, el de Tornavacas (Ávila), en la N-110, y mantiene cortada a la circulación una carretera secundaria en Barcelona.
