El Consejo de Seguridad de la ONU extendió hoy hasta el 31 de diciembre de 2008 el mandato que permite la presencia en Irak de las tropas de la coalición multinacional encabezadas por EE.UU., tal como había sido solicitado por Bagdad.
La resolución adoptada por unanimidad por los quince miembros del Consejo de Seguridad "reafirma" la autorización otorgada por las Naciones Unidas en 2004 a Washington y sus aliados para mantener fuerzas militares en el país árabe.
