El dirigente de la izquierda abertzale Arnaldo Otegi se ha sumado a la huelga de hambre anunciada por los presos de ETA esta semana para protestar por la política penitenciaria del Estado, informó el miércoles su abogada.
Otegi comparecía esta mañana en la Audiencia Nacional imputado por un delito de enaltecimiento del terrorismo por su participación en un acto de un homenaje a un etarra en 2005 del que también están acusadas otras cuatro personas, dos de las cuales no han comparecido ante el tribunal y para las que se ha dictado orden de busca y captura.
"(Mi defendido) decía que si tiene algún problema la sala porque beba agua, porque está en huelga de hambre", dijo la abogada de Otegi, Jone Goirizelaia.
"Por mí, como si quiere beber vino", contestó la magistrada que preside el tribunal, Ángela Murillo.
Otegi se negó a contestar cuando la juez le preguntó si condenaba la violencia de ETA.
"¿No va a contestar, verdad? Ya lo sabía, puede sentarse", contestó Murillo.
Otegi, condenado en varias ocasiones por enaltecimiento del terrorismo, fue detenido por última vez en octubre del año pasado y desde entonces está en prisión por intentar recomponer presuntamente la cúpula de Batasuna, formación ilegalizada por sus vínculos con ETA.
