Manuel Pellegrini, entrenador del Málaga, reconoció hoy en sala de prensa de El Madrigal, tras la derrota de su equipo ante el Villarreal (2-1), que la jugada del penalti a falta de diez minutos "ha sido la clave en el partido".
El técnico chileno explicó que "ese penalti les dio la confianza y la fe que buscaban", aunque apuntó que "tuvieron la fortuna de cara".
Ya que, según Pellegrini, su equipo hizo "un buen partido hasta la expulsión, pero con esa jugada y el penalti les ha levantado a ellos". Ya que, dijo: "A ellos les costaba bastante hacer peligro".
Es más, según el técnico del Málaga, su equipo fue "mejor y tuvo el partido controlado".
Explicó: "Hemos tenido ocasiones y pudimos sentenciarlo con el cero a uno, pero no lo hemos logrado. Teníamos el partido controlado y ellos no estaban llegando casi con peligro. Pero como he dicho la jugada del penalti cambió las cosas y les dio a ellos la opción de creer en el resultado".
Pellegrini explicó que es momento de "recuperar a los jugadores y centrarnos en el siguiente partido, pero, sobre todo, es momento de recuperar al equipo". Y cuestionado al final por la suerte de su rival, el técnico apuntó que "espero que el Villarreal se salve y creo que no van a tener problemas".
