La portavoz del grupo del PP en el Congreso, Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, ha defendido hoy la presunción de inocencia del presidente valenciano, Francisco Camps, y ha afirmado que ésta "debe regir para cualquier ciudadano" hasta que haya sentencia.
Así se ha expresado la portavoz de los populares en la Cámara Baja acerca de la supuesta relación del presidente de la Generalitat valenciana, Francisco Camps, con la trama corrupta empresarial que investiga el juez Baltasar Garzón en el llamado caso Gürtel.
Según las declaraciones del anterior sastre de Camps al diario "El País", el máximo mandatario del Gobierno valenciano pagó unos trajes por cuantías muy elevadas en la tienda en la que trabajaba, y como resultado, supuestamente, de tratos de favor a la red empresarial de Francisco Correa en la comunidad autónoma.
Al igual que ayer el líder del PP, Mariano Rajoy, para quien todos los militantes son inocentes "mientras no se demuestre lo contrario", la portavoz parlamentaria de los populares ha afirmado hoy que la presunción de inocencia debe regir para "cualquier ciudadano sea la actividad a la que se dedique y el partido al que pertenezca".
Y debe regir "hasta que haya sentencia" con el fin, ha añadido, de que la presunción de inocencia "no se convierta en presunción de culpabilidad" y obligue a "todo el mundo a ir defendiéndose y aclarar actuaciones de su vida diaria".
Sáenz de Santamaría ha recordado que su partido presentó ayer una denuncia ante la Fiscalía General del Estado por las revelaciones del secreto de sumario que efectuó el "supuesto sastre", de quien ha dicho que "facturaba doble", que precisamente por eso ha sido despedido y que ha sostenido en su testimonio afirmaciones "contradictorias".
"Cuando alguien acusa a alguien de algo, debe tener pruebas y acreditarlo. Esa es la forma en que funciona el sistema. Uno no tiene que defender su inocencia, sino que otros tienen que probar su culpabilidad", ha sentenciado.
