El primer ministro chino, Wen Jiabao, aseguró hoy que su Gobierno es capaz de controlar la inflación, que en noviembre alcanzó el 5,1 por ciento, el peor dato en 28 meses.
En declaraciones emitidas por la oficial Radio Nacional de China (RNC), el dirigente dijo que todas las medidas que se están llevando a cabo para atajar la subida de precios han empezado a producir resultados.
"Creo que con nuestros esfuerzos podemos mantener los precios a un nivel razonable. Como líder del Gobierno, tengo la responsabilidad y también tengo la confianza (para ello)", subrayó Wen.
El Banco Popular de China (PBOC, Central) anunció ayer un incremento de un cuarto de punto de los tipos de interés, el segundo de estas características promulgado por China en sólo dos meses.
"Hemos subido la ratio de reservas bancarias en seis ocasiones consecutivas e incrementado los tipos de interés en dos para absorber el exceso de liquidez en el mercado, para mantenerla en un nivel razonable para apoyar el desarrollo económico", explicó el primer ministro.
El líder chino destacó especialmente los problemas del sector inmobiliario, que está viviendo una burbuja, con subidas de precios por encima de los dos dígitos desde hace meses en las grandes ciudades del país.
Para ello, dijo Wen, se llevarán a cabo políticas monetarias y de crédito más estrictas.
Entre otras iniciativas, el Gobierno chino ha limitado el número de viviendas que se pueden adquirir por persona en las principales metrópolis del país y ha ordenado a las autoridades provinciales y municipales que limiten la cesión de suelo libre a los promotores.
