La secretaria de Organización del PSOE, Leire Pajín, ha mostrado su satisfacción porque no se hayan cumplido los "augurios" de quienes pronosticaron una abstención mayor en las elecciones de hoy que en los anteriores comicios europeos y ha confiado en que su partido tendrá un "buen resultado".
Pajín ha comparecido brevemente ante la prensa pasada las 20:00 horas para felicitarse de la normalidad con la que ha transcurrido la jornada electoral en España y para congratularse de que, según los datos que se conocen hasta ahora de participación, ésta es muy similar a la que se registró en 2004.
Asimismo, la dirigente socialista ha asegurado que, cualquiera que sea el resultado, debe suponer un nuevo paso adelante en el fortalecimiento del proyecto común europeo y del papel de Europa en el mundo.
Tras esperar que el PSOE obtenga un "buen resultado", Pajín se ha mostrado convencida de que "será el primer partido socialista de Europa" y de que la aportación al Grupo Socialdemócrata europeo será "sustancial".
Leire Pajín comparecerá nuevamente ante la prensa a partir de las 22:00 horas, cuando se hagan públicos los primeros datos oficiales en España.
