Puerto Lumbreras (Murcia), 8 jun EFE).- El presidente del PP, Mariano Rajoy, ha acusado hoy al jefe del Gobierno, José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, de eludir sus responsabilidades al echar la culpa al presidente del Banco Central Europeo, Jena Claude Trichet, de los problemas económicos de España.
En la clausura de la V Conferencia de presidentes regionales de Nuevas Generaciones, Rajoy se ha referido a las declaraciones de Zapatero en las que ayer pidió prudencia a Trichet después de que el Euribor alcanzara un máximo histórico tras su anuncio de una próxima subida de los tipos de interés.
El líder del PP ha lamentado la actitud del Gobierno por el hecho de que llame desaceleración o ralentización a la crisis económica, y ha subrayado que, en momentos difíciles, es cuando hay que saber gobernar.
"En materia económica, Zapatero lleva cuatro años huyendo de la realidad, y ahora huye de la responsabilidad. Ahora resulta -ha proseguido- que la culpa de lo que pasa aquí la tiene Trichet".
Rajoy ha recordado al presidente del Gobierno que no es un comentarista y que lo que debe hacer es gobernar y tomar decisiones en beneficio de los españoles.
Frente a ello, le ha reprochado que su única decisión haya sido aumentar el gasto público incrementando el número de altos cargos de la Administración y ha advertido: "Igual que los españoles se aprietan el cinturón, el Gobierno de España tiene la obligación de apretarse el cinturón".
También le ha pedido que de respuesta a los problemas de los agricultores, de los pescadores y de los transportistas y ha recordado que el próximo miércoles, en la sesión de control del Congreso, volverá a preguntar a Zapatero por la situación económica y si conoce los problemas reales de los españoles.
