El Ministerio de Cultura concedió el martes el Premio Nacional de Literatura en la modalidad de Ensayo al filósofo español Manuel-Reyes Mate, por su obra "La herencia del olvido", una reflexión sobre el papel político de la memoria.
El galardón, dotado con 20.000 euros, reconoce una obra de un autor español en cualquiera de las lenguas oficiales del Estado y editada en España el año anterior (2008), informó el Ministerio de Cultura en un comunicado.
El autor vallisoletano, nacido en 1942, que dirige el proyecto editorial "La Enciclopedia Iberoamericana de Filosofía", se ha especializado en los últimos 20 años en la filosofía después del Holocausto y en el significado del pensar en español.
Colaborador habitual del diario "El País", fue director del Gabinete Técnico del ministerio en los años 80, profesor de Filosofía en la UNED y es director del Instituto de Filosofía del Centro Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC).
