La portavoz del PP en el Congreso, Soraya Saenz de Santamaría, ha insistido hoy en que el tesorero de su partido, Luis Bárcenas, no está imputado en ningún sumario y ha añadido que, si se produce su imputación por el Tribunal Supremo, habrá que "actuar en consecuencia".
En declaraciones a Telecinco recogidas por EFE, Saenz de Santamaría ha respondido así al ser preguntada por la decisión que adoptará el PP si, finalmente, el Tribunal Superior de Justicia de la Comunidad de Madrid eleva hoy el "caso Gürtel" y las supuestas implicaciones de Luis Bárcenas al Tribunal Supremo.
"Lo prudente y lo lógico es ver qué va a pasar. A mí no me gusta pronunciarme sobre hipotéticos casos, se ha hablado muchas veces de posibles imputaciones y, de momento, el señor Bárcenas ni está imputado ni está claro lo que se le pueda atribuir, más que por filtraciones. Creo que hay que esperar y, una vez que eso se produzca, si se produce, actuar en consecuencia", ha aseverado
La portavoz del PP ha recalcado que, en este caso, hay que "manejarse con máxima prudencia", que "cualquier español tiene derecho a la presunción de inocencia" y que "una imputación no es una acusación".
Además, ha hecho hincapié en que no hay una imputación contra Bárcenas, y en que "sólo han aparecido filtraciones parciales de determinadas infracciones contra la Hacienda pública que tampoco se sabe hasta dónde llegan".
