La Fundación Secretariado Gitano (FSE) ha considerado hoy "indignante" la deportación de gitanos rumanos y búlgaros por parte del Gobierno francés y ha asegurado que esta medida "no tiene sentido en pleno siglo XXI".
En un comunicado, el director de la Fundación, Isidro Rodríguez, ha estimado que, en vez de fletar aviones para deportar gitanos, "es necesario "avanzar en una estrategia común" de inclusión de la población romaní y "no tomar medidas" como la del presidente de Francia, Nicolás Sarkozy.
Sarkozy ha ordenado desmantelar los campamentos ilegales de gitanos y así lo está cumpliendo el Gobierno del país, que hoy deportará a 79 a Rumanía en un avión, a los que seguirán más hasta cumplir con el cupo de por los menos 700 personas, tal y como anunció el ministro francés de Interior, Brice Hortefeux.
Para Rodríguez, medidas como la de Sarkozy "lo único que hacen es reforzar los estereotipos negativos que ya existen sobre los gitanos, estigmatizar a toda la comunidad y alentar actitudes racistas".
Así las cosas, la Fundación Secretariado Gitano ha instado al Gobierno francés a "respetar la legalidad internacional en los desalojos y expulsiones de ciudadanos de la UE".
Además, según fuentes de la Fundación, se pidió por carta el pasado 29 de julio a los ministerios españoles de Asuntos Exteriores, Interior y Justicia que rechacen "abiertamente" estas medidas y que tengan una postura "más activa en la búsqueda de soluciones" que pasen por políticas de inclusión y "no por la negación de derechos".
