El sentimiento económico de la zona euro cayó en el mes de mayo y se situó por debajo de lo esperado por los analistas, mostraron el lunes datos de la Comisión Europea.
El indicador de sentimiento económico del área de 16 países cayó a 98,4 desde los 100,6 puntos del mes de abril.
El sentimiento en industria mejoró a -6 desde -7, en servicios empeoró a 3 desde 6, entre consumidores cayó a -18 desde -15 y en el sector minorista a -5 desde -1.
Los economistas consultados por Reuters esperaban de media un aumento del sentimiento económico a 100,8 puntos, mientras que para el sentimiento industrial la previsión era de -6 y para el subíndice de consumidores -18.
Las expectativas de precios de venta entre manufactureras en la zona euro subió a 7 puntos desde 5 puntos en abril.
Entre consumidores, las expectativas sobre precios para los próximos 12 meses subieron a 12 puntos desde 8.
El Banco Central Europeo observa con interés las expectativas de inflación porque quiere un aumento de precios de justo por debajo del 2 por ciento.
