Agentes Rurales y Mossos investigan desde esta mañana quién pudo haber serrado una de las tres ramas del Pi de les Tres Branques (Pino de las tres ramas), en Castellar del Riu (Berguedà, Barcelona). En torno a este pino silvestre de 25 metros de alto, declarado Árbol Monumental en 1987, se celebra anualmente una reunión político-cultural, por lo que tiene un gran simbolismo para Catalunya, especialmente para el nacionalismo porque sus tres ramas representan a los Països Catalans.
Agricultura está intentando reparar el daño
El aviso ha llegado a través del 112 y ya se ha podido verificar que el corte del tronco se ha hecho con una sierra mecánica, por lo que ha sido de manera intencionada. Aparte de las investigaciones para intentar localizar al autor, desde el Departamento de Agricultura está estudiando la posibilidad de reparar este daño.
El Pi de les Tres Branques ya era citado en el siglo XVIII, también vivió una importante batalla de las guerras carlistas y años más tarde, símbolo de la libertad catalana, un sentimiento que aún perdura. En 1901 el propietario del árbol , Tomás Campà , lo cedió a la Unión Catalanista y desde entonces ha ido superando todo tipo de adversidades y agresiones hasta llegar a día de hoy. Actualmente es el árbol símbolo de los Països Catalans, en torno al que se celebra el tercer domingo de julio una fiesta catalanista.
