La directora Sofía Coppola ("Lost in Translation") contará con la actriz británica Emma Watson ("Harry Potter") para el filme "The Bling Ring", basado en hechos reales, informó hoy la edición digital de la revista Variety.
La cinta girará en torno a un grupo de adolescentes que cometen una serie de robos a celebridades.
Coppola escribirá, producirá y dirigirá la película, que contará con financiación de su hermano Roman Coppola y de Youree Henley. Los productores ejecutivos son Fred Roos y Michael Zakin.
"Estoy entusiasmada con el reparto de gente joven que estamos reuniendo y deseando comenzar a rodar aquí en Los Ángeles", dijo Coppola a la publicación.
A pesar de que Watson ha dejado claro que quería centrarse en sus estudios una vez concluida su participación en la saga de Harry Potter, la actriz ha encontrado tiempo para sumarse a proyectos independientes como "My Week With Marilyn" o "Perks of Being a Wallflower".
También tiene previsto intervenir en "Your Voice in My Head", de David Yates, y en una nueva versión de "Beauty and the Beast", el célebre clásico de Walt Disney, que dirigirá y producirá el cineasta mexicano Guillermo del Toro.
Coppola suele otorgar sus papeles protagonistas a jóvenes actrices de la industria en pleno auge, como ocurriera con Kirsten Dunst en "The Virgin Suicides", Scarlett Johansson en "Lost in Translation" o Elle Fanning en "Somewhere".
