El equipo de Suiza, integrado por Reto Hug, Olivier Marceau y Sven Riederer, se ha proclamado campeón de Europa de triatlón al ganar el relevo disputado en la tarde de hoy, domingo, en Lisboa, en el que el equipo español concluyó en novena posición.
Riederer derrotó en el sprint final de una prueba en la que cada relevista cubría 300 metros a nado en las aguas del Tajo, además de ocho kilómetros en bici y dos más de carrera a pie -en un circuito instalado en el Parque de las Naciones de la capital portuguesa- a Artem Parienko, última posta del equipo ruso, que capturó la medalla de plata.
Portugal logró el bronce en una prueba en la que el terceto español, integrado por el valenciano Jesús Gomar, el extremeño Francisco Fernández Cortés y el conquense Jose Miguel Pérez finalizaron en novena posición.
