León hace ya algunos años que ha dejado de ser sólo la catedral y el Barrio Húmedo. Los pixelados colores de la acristalada fachada del MUSAC se han convertido en todo un símbolo de la ciudad. A partir del 11 de julio se inauguran tres exposiciones monográficas.
MUSAC, Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Castilla y León, presenta la primera exposición individual en España del artista suizo Ugo Rondinone. Bajo el título The Night of Lead (La Noche de Plomo), la muestra se plantea como uno de los proyectos más relevantes de MUSAC durante 2009, con una extensión de más de 2.500 m2, más de la mitad del espacio destinado a exposiciones temporales. El resultado es una muestra compleja y de acentuada melancolía, un paisaje onírico de realismo emocional en el que se aprecia la fascinación del artista por los rituales, los sueños, la poesía y lo cotidiano en la condición humana.
Kyong Park. Las Nuevas Rutas de la Seda, supone la primera muestra en torno al ambicioso proyecto de investigación urbana todavía en curso del urbanista, teórico y activista Kyong Park, que abarca, a partir de diferentes viajes, el intrincado trayecto entre Estambul y Tokio. En la muestra se despliegan y repasan las complejas condiciones y relaciones que conforman los territorios culturales, sociales y políticos a lo largo y ancho del continente asiático, Eurasia y Oriente Medio que este activista de origen coreano caracteriza como Las Nuevas Rutas de la Seda.
Por su parte, Jorge Galindo presenta La Pintura y La Furia, una declaración de principios en torno al oficio y la posición del pintor en el mundo actual. Las salas del MUSAC aparecerán completamente plagadas de la mayor parte de las obras que el autor ha realizado en los últimos años, en las que la furia del hecho creativo será evidente a través de un montaje que pretende acercar al público al hecho creativo del artista.
