Los 700 vecinos y veraneantes de la localidad vallisoletana de Valoria la Buena celebrarán este sábado su tradicional Nochevieja de Verano, que alcanza este año su decimotercera edición, en recuerdo del fin de año de 1995, que no pudieron festejar por un apagón de luz.
Según ha informado el municipio en una nota de prensa, el Ayuntamiento de Valoria la Buena festejará la Nochevieja desde primera hora de la mañana con un concurso infantil de Christmas, un vespertino Karaoke de villancicos y un pasacalles brasileño que dará paso a las doce uvas de la suerte.
Tras las uvas, el Consistorio ha organizado una macrodiscoteca Onda Futura y para finalizar una fiesta de espuma.
El objetivo de la organización es superar el número de visitantes de esta atípica Nochevieja, que alcanzó el pasado año las 12.000 personas, con visitantes de Extremadura, País Vasco, Galicia y Cataluña.
El origen se remonta a la Nochevieja de 1995, año en el que una gran tormenta produjo en ese municipio un corte de luz desde la nueve de la noche hasta la una y media de la madrugada, lo que impidió festejar la última noche del año y seguir las tradicionales uvas de la suerte por la televisión.
Ante esta circunstancia, el alcalde, Francisco Javier Calvo Rueda, el mismo que en el 1995, decidió aparcar su turismo en la plaza y reemplazar las campanadas por toques de claxon sincronizados a través de una emisora de radio, porque el reloj de la torre de la iglesia tampoco funcionó.
