La vicepresidenta primera del Gobierno, María Teresa Fernández de la Vega, afirma que el fondo de reserva que tiene la Seguridad Social "nos tiene que dar tranquilidad", pero también de aquí al año 2025, subraya, "trabajaremos para mejorar la ordenación del sistema".
En una entrevista que publica El Mundo, De la Vega insiste en garantizar las pensiones, después de que el gobernador del Banco de España, Miguel Ángel Fernández Ordóñez, apuntara la posibilidad de que el superávit de la Seguridad Social pudiera acabarse en 2009.
De acuerdo con los datos que aporta la vicepresidenta, el fondo de reserva de la Seguridad Social se ha multiplicado por cien en los últimos ocho años, hasta sumar más de 57.000 millones de euros, una cifra que es "como para que estemos tranquilos".
"Hay que dar certezas y garantías" con datos, señala, y "no alarmar sin fundamento a la ciudadanía" como ha hecho el gobernador del Banco de España.
Respecto a las doce medidas anunciadas por el PP para afrontar la crisis económica, De la Vega dice que tienen "un cierto olor a naftalina neoliberal".
Además, añade que echa de menos y ve "con sana envidia" la actitud de colaboración y de "arrimar el hombro" que mantienen los principales partidos de la oposición en todo el mundo.
