Veinte personas murieron y doce resultaron heridas en un choque entre dos autobuses en el estado de Uttar Pradesh, en el norte de la India, informan hoy medios locales.
El accidente se produjo ayer cerca de la población de Chiluatal, al colisionar por causas desconocidas los dos vehículos, que iban en dirección contraria, según los medios, que citan fuentes policiales.
Las fuentes precisaron que en el choque fallecieron once hombres, seis mujeres y tres niños, y que los heridos fueron ingresados, algunos en estado grave, en centros hospitalarios de la región.
Las carreteras de la India son las más mortíferas del mundo debido, principalmente, al pobre mantenimiento de la red vial y de los vehículos, así como al escaso respeto del código de circulación.
