El venezolano Giancarlo Maldonado y el chileno Hugo Droguett marcaron su primer gol en el Torneo Clausura mexicano durante la decimocuarta jornada, que produjo el fin de semana 17 anotaciones, once firmadas por extranjeros.
Maldonado hizo el único tanto del Atlante en la derrota que su equipo sufrió el viernes ante los Tecos UAG. Fue el partido que abrió la jornada.
Droguett dio un pase de gol y después se fijó el de la victoria del Morelia por 2-1 sobre el Pachuca. El resultado incidió en el relevo de líder en el torneo, ya que al ganar el Toluca por 1-0 al Chiapas desalojó al Pachuca de su posición de privilegio.
De los 17 goles de la decimocuarta jornada, cinco fueron de mexicanos, uno lo hizo en propia meta el chileno Ismael Fuentes, del Atlas, y los otros once fueron de jugadores extranjeros.
El ecuatoriano Christian Benítez fue la figura de la jornada al anotar dos veces en la goleada del Santos Laguna por 4-1 sobre el Atlas.
Anotaron también el argentino Walter Jiménez (Santos Laguna), los paraguayos Fredy Bareiro (Tecos UAG) y Pablo Zeballos (Cruz Azul), los uruguayos Alejandro Acosta (Puebla) y Gonzalo Vargas (Atlas), el ecuatoriano Walter Ayoví (Monterrey) y el hondureño Ramón Núñez (Puebla).
Después de catorce jornadas completas, el torneo mexicano registra un total de 339 goles en 126 partidos, con una media de 2,69 por encuentro.
Los mexicanos han anotado en 171 ocasiones en la Liga que, además, tiene 54 goles de argentinos, 27 de paraguayos, 20 de chilenos, 16 de uruguayos, 14 de brasileños, 14 de colombianos, 9 de ecuatorianos, 7 de panameños, 4 de hondureños y 3 de peruanos.
